Concept
ERINNERLICHT is an interactive media installation commemorating the Jewish victims of National Socialism from Trier and the surrounding area. An interdisciplinary team of students from Trier University of Applied Sciences (Intermedia Design) designed and realised this installation together with historians from Trier University.

Finances and MEssage
In the installation, visitors had the opportunity to donate light in a practical and figurative sense in order to illuminate the fate of the victims of the Shoah in Trier. The more visitors took part in the installation to commemorate a persecuted person and donate a light to them, the brighter the inner courtyard of the Porta Nigra.

Development
On the occasion of 27 January 2022, the 77th International Day of Commemoration of the Victims of National Socialism, the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Frieden e. V. in Trier has initiated a public project. The conception, testing and construction of the project took 4 months. In addition, a social medal and website were developed to document the project.
